HOHOE AND LIKPE GMM CLUBS CONCURRENTLY HOLD WORKSHOP




The Girls Making Media project (GMM) is an initiative by Plan International that seeks to empower especially, the girl child has held a workshop for its members in two schools of the Volta Region.
Unlike previous meetings or workshops that was organized for only a selected few members of the clubs across the two regions, Volta and Eastern, this year’s workshop took a different form. The schools this time were afforded the opportunity to host the workshop on their various campuses. Taking into consideration the proximity of the two schools, the coordinator in charge of the project, girls making the media decided to concurrently ran the workshop for both schools, Hohoe Evangelical Presbyterian Senior High School and Likpe Senior High School.
As scheduled, the three day workshop took off in the mornings of Friday the 19th day of October, 2012. The workshop would come to a climax on Sunday 21st, October, 2012 at 5:00(pm).
The objective of the workshop was to acquaint members with basic skills in the media/ communications, basic knowledge in information communication technology and on issues pertaining to gender to help them in their advocacy work.
In attendance was the projects Regional Director from Burkina Faso, Mr. Allain Some, Nana Odoi Gyampo of Asempa Fm, Rev. Stephen Andoh, Mr. Henry Ametefe ,  Jose Acquah of Heritage Fm, Christian Abossey also of Heritage Fm and the various club patrons.
From the Volta region, a similar workshop would be held for members of the club at Asesewa Senior High School, Manya Krobo Senior High School and Yilo Krobo Senior High School all in the eastern part of the country.
 In the early parts of November, it would be the turn of members of the club at Sogakofe Senior High school and Dabala Secondary Technical Senior High School respectively.
